The City of London Festival, inaugurated in 1962, is a unique celebration of London's famous (and less famous) buildings, parks, River Thames and outdoor spaces. The festival offers a vibrant programme of music, visual arts, film, walks and talks running at 50 fantastic venues throughout Central London, with many events free to attend.

Pride London 2010 (1st - 4th July 2010)
Running since 2004, Pride London is a popular annual London series of events that promote the rights of homosexuals, lesbians, bi-sexuals and trans-genders in modern day society. Pride London 2009 attracted over 1 million visitors, and 2010 is expected to be even bigger. Pride London includes the annual black LGBT Pride festival.

BBC Proms London 2010 (16th - 31st July 2010)
The world-famous BBC Proms (Promenade Concerts) annual music festival takes place at the Royal Albert Hall in London, and other UK venues, running from mid-July to mid-September each year. Farnborough Air Show 2010 (19th - 25th July 2010)
Less than 40 miles from London, in rural Hampshire, England, the annual Farnborough International Air Show (FIA) which was originally held in London, provides a spectacular display of aeroplanes, helicopters and other aircraft. FIA 2010 will feature exhibition halls, flying displays, UAV pavilion, a dedicated ‘Space Zone' and enhanced UAV presence.

Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2010 (1st - 31st July 2010)
The London Summer Exhibition, from the Royal Academy, starts in June and runs throughout the summer until late August. It is the 'largest open-submission contemporary art exhibition in the world', now in its 242nd year. The exhibition attracts a high volume of entrants and showcases and helps sell the work of new and established artists.

London Lovebox Weekender 2010 (16th - 18th July 2010)
The London Lovebox Weekender music festival, running since 2002, returns to Victoria Park in Tower Hamlets this July. Last year’s event had an increased 50,000 capacity and featured headliners such as Groove Armada, Duran Duran and Joey Negro. Lovebox 2010 has been expanded to a 3-day event.
